This lovely filly is born in 2019 and is by Finsceal Fior (IRE), a son of the prolific Gallileo (IRE) going back to Saddlers Wells (USA) (Northern Dancer (USA)). Breeder is Naoise Conroy
Finsceal Fior’s dam Finsceal Beo is by Mr Greeley (USA) who goes back to Gone West (Mr Prospector – Raise A Native). Other greats found in Mr Greeleys pedigree are Secretariat and Bold Ruler. On the damside we find Musical Treat by the Nijinsky (Northern Dancer) stallion Royal Academy (USA).
The two mighty greats
Interestingly the are two stallions that are duplicated in the pedigree of Finsceal Fior namely:
Mr Prospector (USA) (28/01/1970-1/6/1999) was by Raise a native who in turn was by one of the most celebrated racehorses in American racing history, Native Dancer, nicknamed the Grey Ghost. The damsire of Mr prospector was Nashua by another one of the greats Nasrullah (IRE). Mr Prospector won 7 of his 14 starts and finished second in 4 and third in 2, yes you counted right he was only unplaced in one start which is an amazing record. The 14th race he finished fourth most likely due to never before having raced on turf. Mr Prospectors breeding career was as illustrious as his racing career with numerous group 1 winners as well as breeding stallions to his name. Notably all horses in the 2015 Belmont Stakes and the 2018 Kentucky Derby had Mr Prospector in their sire line.
Northern Dancer (CAN)(1961-1990) The first Canadian Horse to win the Kentucky Derby. As a young horse Northern Dancer failed to find a new owner so was raced by his breeder, Edward P. Taylor of Windfields farm, . He raced 18 times and was placed every time with no less than 14 wins (14-2-2). Northern Dancer is by Nearctic and interestingly we find the Grey Ghost (Native Dancer) as the damsire.
Over to the Dam of this wonderful filly, Rockhill Rose.
Rockhill Rose is out of North Light Rose which makes her a half sister on the dam side to High Street Lady, Amazing Grazing and Finsceal Rose all of whom has a solid record racing. As a sire Rockhill Rose has Vocalised (USA) by Vindication. Vocalised is out of Serenas Tune which is where it gets interesting as she is by Mr Prospector again going back to a certain Grey Ghost. A Ghost you will also find in the breeding of North Light Rose who is by North Light Going back to Northern Dancer and thereby Native Dancer via Danehill – Danzig.
The outsider
No story is complete without an outsider. The outsider in this pedigree is the Triple Crown winner Seattle Slew, the sire of Vindication. This horse is the American Dream personified.
Future
We believe in this filly, she has got the pedigree, it has been proven that Vocalised mixes well with Gallileo. She has a great attitude and is absolutely jam packed full of life, just waiting for the right opportunity to come along.
