A wonderful Hunter / all rounder with a huge heart.

Exet is an 11 year old (2009) piebald gelding born and bred in Ireland. He has spent his life mainly hunting in the winters and doing hunter trials, cross country and the occasional pony club activity in the summer. He has also show jumped which he does well.

Exet has not really been tested as hunting has been his main job but has no problems whatsoever to clear the huge stone walls of Co Galway and the ditches and more technical jumps of the more inland hunts. Absolutely fabulous with hounds and a positive yet controllable mount… For those not familiar with the hunt scene, the fences include jumps up to (and sometimes over) 1.20m including drops, spreads and LOTS of different water features.

Where he is at

This horse has done most things and is very secure. He jumps everything which includes both show jumps and cross country fences. He has jumped courses up to 1.10m and considerably higher at home. The temperament is fabulous and he has a very trainable character working sweetly in a nice outline with 3 nice paces.

In the stable

Everything is loveable! He likes being groomed , loves a bath, eager to get onto the lorry or trailer to go nice fun places and of course if you go nice places the hairdo must be just right (easy to clip). And since he absolutely adores doing fun things he will come to you when it is time to go in from the field.

Future

This horse is looking for a human to have fun with. He will give you great confidence in return for a juicy carrot. What’s the next adventure? Some eventing, showjumping or maybe a Dressage test. And of course some hunting or fun rides.

Exet is definitely a perfect allrounder. Having said that he is very good at what he is doing and will bring you to higher levels of both showjumping and eventing it this is what you desire. He would also suit as a riding school horse.
